This Computers, Privacy and Data Protection Conference takes place during a significant stage in the revision of the EU legal framework on data protection. Key panels will focus on the review and proposals regarding the new data protection frameworks, its limits and possibilities. As 2012 is the European Year of Active Ageing, several panels will focus on Ageing and New Technologies. Other key issues addressed are geolocalization, e-identity and e-management, enforcement of copyright protection, surveillance in the workplace, accountability and communication of privacy. Additionally, workshops on eDiscovery, data mining of open source data, privacy impact assessments and “privacy by design”, as well as special events for PhD and Early Stage Researchers will take place.
